Q&A: If Al Gore truly believed carbon consumption is causing our planetary doom, would he act this way?
Question by Government Union Moron: If Al Gore truly believed carbon consumption is causing our planetary doom, would he act this way?
"Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a house in secluded Montecito to their real estate holdings.
The couple spent ,875,000 on a gated ocean-view villa on 1 1/2 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, according to real estate sources familiar with the deal. The Italian-style house has high ceilings with beams in the public rooms, a family room, a wine cellar, terraces, six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms in more than 6,500 square feet of living space."

Because he's an idiot, not a scientist.
His worry over global warming is right and real, but he's a dick, so I wish he'd shut up about it. He's making the job of real scientists much harder.

Wow, a lot of energy, energy, and resources will be needlessly wasted. But he has carbon credits–which means that anything he does will be magically shielded from harming the environment.

He is the ultimate hypocrite.

Al Gore is a tool. Just out of curiosity at what elevation is this new house. I mean if sea levels are going to rise, would he really have spent that much money just to have it wash away in a couple of years? This just shows even he doesn’t believe what he is saying, he’s just in it to make money.

as of last year Gore has made 10 million by screaming global warming. now since it is colder every where he screams climate change. spring is half over and it snowed in New York and a freeze warning for Pennsylvania

A typical Liberal telling everyone else what they should do and not doing it themselves.

Its like an investment. California has perfect weather so you don’t need AC or a heater. Plus, he is closer to where Barbara Steisand lives and she is a big ecosystem supporter.

What does his real-estate holdings have to do with his carbon foot print? Its not the size of the place that matters it’s the energy he used to run it. He has converted his other home into a super energy efficient, solar run home, if he does the same with this one, what does it matter?
One of the things he teaches is that it’s millions of people doing making very small changes in every day life… not that you stop everyday life to make tinny changes. He never said you have to stop living, but we need to be mindful on how we live.

well to be FAIR to the Father of The Internet…
he can CERTAINLY AFFORD IT…
Al Gore could become world’s first carbon BILLIONAIRE
Last year Mr Gore’s venture capital firm loaned a small California firm $75m to develop energy-saving technology.
The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants, the New York Times reports. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts.
The move means that venture capital company Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.
CO2 tax agenda front man lining his pockets on the back of global warming fearmongering
The New York Times has lifted the lid on how Al Gore stands to benefit to the tune of billions of dollars if the carbon tax proposals he is pushing come to fruition in the United States, while documenting how he has already lined his pockets on the back of exaggerated fearmongering about global warming.
As is to be expected, the article is largely a whitewash and takes an apologist stance in defense of Gore.
However, the NY Times’ John M. Broder does reveal how one of the companies Gore invested in, Silver Spring Networks, recently received a contract worth $560 million dollars from the Energy Department to install “smart meters” in people’s homes that record (and critics fear could eventually regulate) energy usage.
“Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr. Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years,” states the report, highlighting the fact that Gore is “well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.”
boy … these anti-market types sure do like making themselves boatloads of money!!!!

But if he was a republican and sombody complained about this ,people would be saying you hate rich people .You jealous of al? If he lives in a gated community the residents pay for the roads and upkeep and security . Al is not depending on the tax payers to take care of him

I would not judge someone. I would guess that the house he has is also a place where he works & many people use these facilities so it is not like this is just for the two of them. So without knowing the details why put out this kind of negative energy. As you do this there is someone who is judging you as harshly. Hating others is not worth it. Do the good work you feel you are to give to others & mind you business & you will be more prosperous but wanting to just rant about Al Gore shows you are not wanting to see how you are a mirror of him. So what it is you feel you are doing that is seen as hypocritical or seen that way? You might not see this at first but if you ask this question you will see that this is on your mind cause you feel guilty or that you are bing judged as you judge.
