The KAZU TIME Show -HOPE- Dr. Robert Muller Memorial Service at La Casa de Maria Montecito, CA September 27th, 2010 Dr. Robert Muller (1923 - 2010) "Prophet of Hope" Former UN Assistant Secretary-General, Chancellor Emeritus of the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica and Recipient of the 1989 UNESCO Peace Education Prize. Author of MOST OF ALL THEY TAUGHT ME HAPPINESS. robertmuller.org goodmorningworld.org Robert Muller was born in Belgium in 1923 and raised in the Alsace-Lorraine region in France. His grandparents had five successive nationalities (France, Germany) without leaving their village, as the result of three wars (1870-1871, 1914-1918, 1939-1945). Often as a child, he looked out of his window at the border he could not cross and longed for the day when he, like the birds, the clouds, the sun and the stars, would not have to observe the imaginary line. As a member of the French Resistance, he knew the horrors of World War II, of being a refugee, and of Nazi occupation and imprisonment. After the war he earned a Doctorate of Law from the University of Strasbourg. In 1948 he won an essay contest on how to govern the world; the prize was an internship at the newly created United Nations, where he met his first wife Margarita Gallo. Dr. Muller devoted the next 40 years of his life to the United Nations, focusing his energy on world peace. He rose through the ranks to Assistant-Secretary-General of the UN. It’s very sad that the three great peacemakers in Santa Barbara passed away in 2010… We’ll always remember them and their messages… Their legacy will live on in our heart and soul. Thank you very much, Frank, Gene and Robert!

Dr. Muller was a great mentor and a great inspiration to so many wonderful friends around the world and touched their hearts. I’m very honored and very grateful to have a wonderful opportunity to meet and to know him and his family in my life. Let’s help make this beautiful planet a Paradise of Earth as he always said and believed. Life is Miracle. Let’s Smile and be Happy to celebrate, enjoy, and appreciate every second of our life. My deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers for Dr. Muller and his family. He was a great human being, a great leader, a great example, a great teacher and a great friend, and we all miss him, his smile and his “Ode to Joy” harmonica play. It’s important for us to remember him and his messages of peace, happiness, hope, positiveness and miracle, and to celebrate his life. He contributed his life to help make this world a better place. His legacy will live on in our heart. Thank you, Dr. Muller.
