  1. Every once in awhile, we get this question here. However, time and again, there is no proof, and yet the myth goes on. Some people SWEAR that a parent took them there, in the dark (of course), and that they can never remember exactly where it was. Usually, the legend evolves around all the little people who came out to film The Wizard of Oz, and they formed a town, called “Tiny Town”, “Midgetville”, or similar.

The only documented evidence I’ve seen was from a circus that went bankrupt in the 1930′s in the Riverside area. There was a small community, not much more than some shacks, really, that didn’t last very long. I heard that the buildings have since been torn down, destroying any possibility of confirming the rumor.

  2. Hmm… not sure about one in Montecito. I’ve heard of the one in La Jolla, but everything I’ve read about it says its just an optical illusion. Maybe the one in Montecito is one too?

BTW, this website give some info in one of the comments: http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/2179/P80/

  3. There are several rumored to be in Socal, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, San Diego..

  4. I never heard of such a thing! I doubt it’s true.
My cousin is a little person, and he goes to conventions every year.
I never never heard of a “midget” town.

  5. I live here and Ive never heard of that. I dont think that is a common knowledge thing your talkin about.
